My three goals are:
ReplyDelete1. Complete 1 unassisted pull- up.
2. Run three miles without stopping
3. Lose 15 lbs.
I have moved from the grey band to the RED BAND!! My chin is about 2 inches from reaching the bar with NO BAND!! I'm hoping to get that first pull-up by the end of the week.
3 weeks ago I ran 2.5 miles without stopping. I have been taking it easy with the running due to some pain in my right hip and knee. Im feeling better and will attempt the 3 miles on Thursday.
I don't know if I have lost the 15 pounds. I decided not to weigh myself until the end of the challenge. My body comp on Friday will reveal that. Although I did not stick to the dietary goals I set for myself as strictly as I would have liked to, I feel wonderful! I was finally able to wear a jean skirt that has not fit in about 18 months. I unwittingly did a REAL push-up this morning in class and I am stronger than I have ever been in my whole life. Regardless of the outcomes of my goals I already feel that I have been successful in this challenge
My 3 goals were:
ReplyDelete1. Lose 2-5% body fat (down to 15-16%)
2. Eat 95 % Paleo/ Zone 80%.
I will not eat dairy.
I will not eat bread/wheat.
3. I will complete all warm-up pushes on my TOES, as well as use the purple band in CF classes.
As far as my goals go, I can now do 3 unassisted pull ups! During workouts I use the purple band, if not one at all! I can also do 10 pushups on my toes in a row!
As far as losing 2-5% body fat... well let’s just say that didn't happen! I would be happy to see if I stayed in the same body weight class!
I would have to say that my diet was the MOST challenging part of this entire challenge. It took control of me mentally and physically, bringing me down in every way possible. I have been extremely hard on myself this past month and a half, and I feel as though I have let myself go! I’ve lost confidence in myself as a Cross fitter, and as a women who is young and beautiful! I let the Paleo diet get the best of me, and now I’m finally starting to come back on top. This has been one hell of a journey. I have learned more about myself than I can EVER say I knew before this challenge. I have learned what tempetation is all about!
I've also learned what dairy does to my body- which is nothing but hurting it! I am 100% lactose and tolerant and never realized how much damage dairy plays on my body. I've learned about portion control, and that measuring your food in ounces really sucks when it comes to protein!
But I have without a doubt learned so much about myself and who I am as a person. I have met defeat, commitment and failure in the eyes, and have chosen to come out on top after these 7 weeks of constant battles with this thing I like to call the monster that plays with my thoughts!!
I’m taking nothing but positive awareness from this challenge, and I hope that I will someday be able to challenge myself again where I can manage my nutrition, as well as focus on the workouts and being healthy in every way possible!
Thank you to Jess and our team for all the support!! Way to go SPARTANS!!!
My 3 goals were:
ReplyDelete1. finish the Spartan Challenge (still yet to see about this one) in under 20 minutes
2. loose 2 inches on my thighs and loose 5 pounds (i have no idea if I did this, and I dont feel it is as important anymore since I can wear shorts and feel good, WHO CARES about the numbers???)
3. food log my diet following the paleo zone method using the block food system properly
This challenge has certainly tested my strength and commitment to my goals. I have been very pleased with my results to say the least and learned its not the numbers on the scale or inches measured that count. My second goal is not so much what matters to me anymore. I have been able to wear the clothes I love, my bathing suit and feel confident and happy with my body regardless of the number on the scale. I feel that not only has the regimen of crossfit and the spartan workouts changed my body, the diet has also made all the difference. I have used this challenge as a platform for what I would like to incorporate into my daily life from this point on. I found incorporating this diet and workout routine hard especially with coworkers, friends and others around me not understanding the benefits or reasoning why I was so passionate about it, and thinking it was crazy...... I found this to be a positive experience in that i have found a new way of eating and taking care of my body that over time I can improve more and more and get better at these workouts and my CONFIDENCE!!... which I realize I need to stop beating myself up over not being "the best at, or not completing every single workout." Some day I know i will do really well if I just continue with this program. I have tried several diets, and workout plans and this by far has made all the difference mentally and physically for me. It has worked really well for me! Regardless of the outcome of my benchmark I feel I have improved in my lifestyle, body and will continue to set goals and seek out more challenges. My third goal about logging my food will probably be something I will try to continue to do as needed when I feel I get off track as I do feel it has helped me when I have questions or get "off track." I have bought the Zone book which has all the block charts in it which helps, and hope to continue to monitor my diet by logging and asking for help when needed...as it really does help. Thanks JESS!!!
Another way I have made a commitment to myself to keep on track is that I have signed up for 3 days a week of crossfit from 2 days which I guess could be a new goal I made.
good luck to everyone and congratulations on all your hard work and success during this challenge, I know it hasn't been easy. OOOHH YEAH ;)
